Well another month has come and gone - wow this year is flying by fast!!! And with the end of the month comes completed challenges :) I was able to complete ALL of the SBT50 CC and monthly challenges - it's the first time I was able to knock them all over **yay** I'm hoping for a repeat performance this September (sheesh, it feels so funny to be saying September - we're on the downhill slide to Christmas!!!!)
You can find the new (and brilliant) September challenges for SBT50 HERE... for now, I hope you like what I completed for August. As I mentioned in a previous post where I uploaded 'Cake Smash' that this month I've decided I want to really try some new stuff, so decided that beside the regular challenges I'm going to work with brights and different styles... I don't know if I've really pulled them all off, but I put in a decent effort at least ;)

Challenge #1 - Anthea's Sketch Challenge
challenge requirements:
* include a journal tag and
* something clear (there's clear dimensional magic on the number "1's" on the title paper and there are clear brads as well)
Challenge #2 - Vicki's Technique Challenge
challenge requirements:
* Paint in a new technique you've never tried before: I've spread turquoise paint over the background with sponges, dropped lime over the top once it had dried, and then used the edge of a piece of card to make red and white lines as well as using one of my brad containers to make little circles of red and white as well. So lots of different paint things that I've not done before
* Brads: Lots all over the place!! Centre of flowers, picture brads and gem brads scattered throughout.
* Eyelets: again lots scattered throughout, they are little flower eyelets in and around the flowers.
* Journal Block: yeps
and
* Old PP: there are some quilted paper flowers that were part of my original stash - so over 8 years old!! They have been cut out of a full size PP; also on the back of the LO there are some of the same quilted square PP's that came from the same collection. The bee paper behind the journal block also comes from my 8 year old stash.
Challenge #3 - Sue's Inspiration Challenge
challenge requirements:
Choose an item of clothing to use to HEAVILY influence your LO. It must be clearly visible how the item of clothing influenced your LO.
The item of clothing I used this top of Aleksandir's...
The background paper has lines/stripes like the top (hard to see with the distressing). I've distressed the background in a reflection of the cracked white print. I've also used the stitching along the neckline on the page and the top has a lot of additional stitching which I've used with the border stitching. I've tried to reflect the title as well and I was certain there are other things but they escape my feeble brain... :P
Challenge #4 - We Dare You
challenge requirements:
1. NO flowers/leaves - Nikki: Yeppers
2. 2 Metallic Items - Treens: Charms have been added
3. A novelty button - Bec: The ladybug is a button
4. Mirror Item - Danny: My title XOX is a mirror with added DM and glitter which itself is made from shredded mirrors
So with that I'm all doneded... I'm not happy with the border on the dare challenge, I think I kinda ruined that, but it's done and in the album. So on to September's challenges - onwards and upwards.. lots more new things to learn and challenge myself with to see just how far I can push myself and develop my scrapping skills :)
These are all stunning layout Treens but I think the 'Cake Smash' and 'Bowler' layouts are my favourites. You've got great style girl!

Awww thanks Marelize :) I think i agree with you too ;) even though I'm still not sure on the cake smash one it's growing on me - I just know I wont be doing that style very often if at all ever again LOL
ReplyDeleteYou ROCKED the challs this month girl!!! I particularly love the "Cake Smash" LO (ala Stacy Young style) - DIVINE!!! You did such a good job on it, I hope you do give that style another go at some stage. (PS make sure you sub that one...promise!) XXX
