Tissue Paper Backgrounds...

I've been experiementing... I thought I might have been onto something really cool, unique and one of a kind.... until I was told that it's already been done **doh** LOL Anyways it's tissue papered backgrounds!

Kahi received a present wrapped in tissue paper and it fell over a dark fabric and the effect was really nice - I thought then "why not use it for scrapping?" So I had a play and LOVED the effect!!!

I've done 2 LO's recently using tissue papered backgrounds... I LOVE how they're turned out!! They're for recent challenges on LSBS and SBT50 . Hope you like too :)

My springs are nestled into my flower clusters. They are little tendrils that Tracy from My2Angels taught us how to make whilst at Scraphappy Kat's retreat this year :) Super easy to do once you now how ;)

The Seasoned Scrapper - Spring - Week 2

Well the second week of the LSBS Seasoned Scrapper "Spring" has just about come to an end and my Layout has been uploaded and explained and ready for criticism, love, envy whatever you wish to throw at it in the LSBS gallery... Either that or you can see it here - and again criticise, love or envy it from here (no idea why anyone would envy but it sounded right LOL)


Week 2: Sunny Babies


Challenge Requirements :

* Scrap a baby photo taken out in the sun
and
* Use Flowers

Here is my LO - please note I simply HATE my handwriting here - but it was what I wanted, and once on a little bit hard to take off ;)

Happiness Is...

The baby is my Domenik when he had just turned 1. He's in the garden enjoying the sunshine with our cat Portia I was rather addicted to dressing him in little Noo outfits LOL sad eh - but he is just too cute!! LOL

The flowers have had diamond stickles put on their petals to lift them and allow them to be moulded a little and I've sewn the stems and leaves. The banner was made from chippie I've covered with PP and I've painted the chippie "happiness" with twinkling H2O's.

The phrases I have written are in answer to "happiness is..."

*flowers dancing in the wind
*baby hugs and giggles,
*new life and starting over
*ladybugs and butterflies
*warm kisses from the sun
*rain on hot red dirt
*the scent of freshly mown grass
*sunshine and fluffy clouds and
*Springtime

My LO is about a letter Kahli slipped into my wallet without me realising until my DH, Domenik and I were in WA for a friends wedding March last year. It's such a special piece of paper for me, this is the first time it's been out of my wallet (except when I've been reading/holding it) since I discovered it... I love that she did this - it's a real treasure for me Put together using materials from the Scrapbook Nook kit for July 2010 featuring Sassafrass Lass papers.

The journalling (which is a mess, Kids interrupting, bumping and being pains whilst I was trying to write augh!!) reads:

"When Nathan, Dom and I went to Kalgoorlie for Ben and Paula's wedding on March 19th 2009 I found Kahli had slipped this letter into my wallet. On the back is her spelling list!!

Through the tough times with her I would often get it out and realise she really is a sweet little things despite it all"

PS: Kahli throws the most shocking temper tantrums and is currently being investigated for being on the autism spectrum (her older brother has aspergers so it's a strong possibility) hence the last paragraph.

Hope you like I loved completing this challenge - it made me think but in the end it's come together as a very special LO for me
