Creativity Fun :)

I've not scrapped since last week - yeah yeah, totally SLACK!!! I still have a LO to photograph properly and upload - it's using those gorgeous pretty petals tissue flowers - but each time I go to photograph them it comes out with shadows, and that really bugs me LOL Perfectionist to the end hahaha I might see what I can whip up for the last day of the SBT50 monthly challenges tonight... I've got a couple of LO's half done for them, but getting it finished has proven to be difficult in and around this mixed up month November has proven to be!!!!

So what have I done recently that crafty????

I played with sculpy years ago - I can;t even remember what I did way back then, but I thought with a Christmas swap that i might pull out something different and have a go at making something again... and this is what I came up with - not the best piccies, but they look pretty good IRL :) I'm going to create some more bits and pieces for the SBT50 craft market that is happening this Friday as well :)

Christmas Tree Pins

(these are to go on a banner - well that's the plan!!!)

Candy Cane Pins

I've so many ideas buzzing around my head for these... Not sure if they'll all come together but can only try hey ;) Lets see if sculpy and acetate can go together... Hmmm have you thinking now ..... ROFL

No Excuses...

but it's going to sound like one...

This last few weeks have been ridiculously stressful and emotional for me. My daughter has been having a LOT of issues at school and it's now got to the point where I've had to pull her out of school for the rest of the year. So I apologise for not being very active here - this is all on top of my being ill for two weeks as well!

BUT - now that decisions have been made regarding my children and I'm feeling better (if not stressed to the hilt!!!) I should be able to get back into the saddle of scrapping, creating and having a whole lot of fun and be a sharing kind of gal again :)

Look out world - she's on the search for her mojo and wont be taking any prisoners on the hunt for it ;)

Who said Flowers are Only for Girls???

Not I - actually with a combination of 4 males in the family and an addiction to flowers I think I have no choice but to flower my boys up LOL

This LO is for the LSBS Seasoned Scrapper series...

Week 6 - S.P.R.I.N.G
presented by:Kerryn

challenge requirements:

* Use a technique, brand or product to represent each letter of the word "Spring"

I had a gorgeous shabby chic layout in the making - all creams and whites, but then a rambunctious 2 year old thought he'd have a go adding black paint to it - all over!!! totally ruined!!! So this is what I came up with in the 1 hour I had between calming down and starting to breath again and deadline ;)

S - staples and stitching
P - Patterned Paper
R - Ribbon
I - Ink
N - Negative Space
G - Grunge

Diablo Dommy

See the gorgeous tissue flower there? It's a Pretty Petals one!!! I've brushed over it with a mixture of 25% acid free glue and 75% water and then sprinkled over some diamond dust - I really love the effect!! I'll try to get a better pic of it and edit it in here so you can see just how it sparkles :)

SBT50 November Cyber Crop

Well it wasn't a good one for me... Having 2 weeks out with illness didn't help - considering the CC runs for 2 weeks I didn't give me that long to pull anything together - but I did!!!

I was able to complete the Mini challenge that I've already posted and 2 other LO's (one in a mad rush to make the groups full enough for voting - but it was done none the less!!!)

Challenge 2 - Recycle It
presented by Vicki

challenge requirements

* create a layout from recycled products from in and around your home! Your layout does not need to be made entirely from recycled products, but if you can, go for it!!

here is my LO :)

No Longer a Boy, Not Yet a Man

Challenge 4 - A Day In The Life
presented by Sue

challenge requirements

* scrap a LO about "A Day in the Life" of someone (or something)
* 2 or more photos
* inking
* chipboard (other than alphas)

New Birthday Fun

This LO was pulled together from start to finish in under 1.5 hours. For SBT50 to be able to have their LO's judged there needs to be a certain number of LO's in the gallery - we were one short!!! So I messaged Vicki not to come online until midday to give us time to fill all the groups (which she obliged hahahaa) and voila - this LO was born!!! it covers all the criteria, and I think it's pretty good for a pull together ;) LOL

4 piccies, banner is chippie as well as inked and the theme is the day that Dommy learned how to become a birthday boy :) it didn't take him long to get the knack of being spoilt ROFL

Friday, November 19, 2010

I've been slack - well not really, very unwell and then nursing sick children and now a sick husband... got to love how bugs seem to have the domino effect, and when you have a large family that domino effect seems to go on forever!!! But I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and can start to get back to regular activities :)

So this month, as much as it's been a bit of a wipe-out so far has been rather successful for me :) I've had a couple of LO's win prizes on SBT50 and some honourable mentions on LSBS:) I've also been given a Blog Award from Becci!!! So no one can really sneeze at that hey ;) I'll be back tonight to do a linkey with more details and add my award - right now I have 4 recuperated kids waiting to go see Santa at the Christmas parade so I'm trying to muster some energy and enthusiasm to go out and enjoy the day....

I did a Little Scrap....

today.. not much, but baby steps ;) I feel really unwell today -0 hopefully it's the bugs final throes of torture before it leaves me alone - one can only hope...

Anyways a deadline was looming so I had to get the LO completed. It's been sitting on my desk this whole week waiting for me to get better... so I'm hoping now that it's been done, and despite be being unwell that it's come together in a presentable fashio... It's not what I planned - far from it!! ut it's done..

hmmm did that waffle make sense? I really hope it did!! LOL

The LO is for LSBS Seasoned Scrapper.

LSBS - Seasoned Scrapper - Spring Week 4

Presented by: Belle

challenge requirements:
Inspired by Spring use some BLING on your LO
Your favourite spring fresh colour and
A piece of PP no bigger than 6x6

My take on this weeks chal. I've included a small piece of PP (way less than 6x6!!!) - its the text in the embie cluster on the bottom left hand corner and behind the tear near the photo.
The colour I've chosen to use is green - the colour of all things springy fresh Smile and there is bling on the two brads used in the LO.

BYW this is a picture of me from back in 1982! The really bad writing (lol) says "and here I am in my favourite dress, posing for cousin Susan in Nanny's front garden..."

The LO hasn't turned out how I planned.. being sick this week didn't help, nor did my sewing machine deciding to do the goo halfway through sewing on it!!!!

Still Under the Weather...

And as a result not much has been happening here :( I've had laryngitis for 3 (or is it 4 now) days and it's now moved into a sinus infection - got to love this time of year - NOT!!! Spring always gets to me.. family trait, but it's been a lot later this year to effect us - hopefully it wont be around much longer and I can swap the tissues for layouts!!!

After spending the majority of today in bed napping, I plan to get back in the saddle and try to get some mojo happening tomorrow - wish me luck!!!

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Well I've been a smidgen quiet... that's because we have a house full of sickies, and I've got the bugs the worst grrrr But I hope to be back and creative very very soon :) I've got lots buzzing around my head (or that could be bugginess too LOL) and can't wait for my energy levels to return!!!

Sunday, November 7, 2010

It's on tonight!!!!

The final CC at SBT50 for 2010 - wow can you believe we're at the pointy end of the year already!!! Sheesh - sure time flies when you're having fun (or super dooper busy - whichever the case may be LOL)

Ssoooo here's the details (please note there's a slightly different web address due to stupid hosting companies doing to goo financially and closing doors with no notice grrrrr) You can click on the poster though and I'll take you straight there - like your own personal magic carpet ride to the fun if you wish :)

Have you ever done a LO that you're not happy with... It's not a case of simply not being happy with it but I just can't work out why or how to fix it!!! It'll probably come to me tomorrow - after the challenge deadline **doh** I honestly think a combination of exhaustion, sick kids (yes Dommy's unwell and the older kids are saying they're not well too **sigh**) and ever looming deadline got to me on this one....

its for the LSBS Seasoned Scrapper. It's week 4 and I'm loving the weeky challenges - but this one stumped me a little...

Week 4: Trick or Treat
Presented by: Tara

challenge requirements:
* Use the words Trick or Treat in your title
* Must NOT be Halloween LO

Trick or a Treat?

Sooo, I had one idea but on re-reading the requirements of having Trick or Treat in the title not the journalling that was quickly laid to rest. Then I found this piccie of the kids and thought it would be perfect!!! So this is my LO... I still can't quite put my finger on what I don't like about it!!!

Lookeee Here :)

I'm selling some of my beaded beauties as semi customs in the SBT50 Craft market that is running this weekend - yes the whole weekend!!!! If you jump on over there and have a look you'll find some really REALLY gorgeous homemade goodies made by us girlies there - and it's happening every month!!! The idea of this isn't to make a HUGE profit - it's to share and share and get our talents out there - so don't be afraid to look, the prices might just suprise you!!! (and they make great secret santa gifts or Christmas pressies too ;))

So what are semi customs? Well you select the item you want, say it be a spider, or bee, or butterfly etc etc and you customise the colours you want them made up to!!!

yes, that IS a beaded red back spider!!!!

I'm doing the same for my vintage bottle tops - you can choose from dictionary and book prints, crossword puzzles or even dictionary definitions!!! Let me know what you want and I'll make it all up for you....

I also have a HUGE range of regular and limited edition bottle tops up for grabs too - so if you're not keen to make your own but love something a little different come on over and see what's available!!!

BUT you need to go onto SBT50 to have a good look around and order via there ;) Have fuuuuunnnn - and don't hide the wallet - let them open and spend forth mwahahaha

oh and don't forget to have a good look around and see what the other girls have on offer as well LOL Lots of crochet goodness, doilies, flowers, lollipops - rather than pop it all here it really is best to pop over and have a looksee..... :P

Please note, there are some T&C's and this isn't available for stores to sell at, it's for us lowly folk who craft for ourselves to try and share our talents and love - but stores are welcome to come and buy or offer to sell for us as well mwahahhaa - cheeky ain't I LOL

More Chances to WIN!!!

@ Pretty Petals!!!

Pretty Petals are now available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!!! Yes, there is now a Pretty Petals store on Etsy!!! Now you can browse at your leisure and buy when you like and not need to wait for a monthly release!!!

Oh but there will still be monthly releases - these will be of new designs and stock ;) AND.... for the month of November the new releases on the blog will be happening EVERY FRIDAY!!!! That's right, every Friday at 6.30pm there will be a new release of flowers and blooms on the Pretty Petals Blog - and with that comes a giveaway as well!!!

Regular readers of the Pretty petals blog would know that when there's a new release there's also a giveaway - so with the weekly releases there will be a weekly giveaway!!! Make sure you're a follower on the blog and grab a blinkie to put on your blog as well - share the love ;)

But wait, that's not all!!!!

To celebrate the opening of the etsy store everyone who purchases from the etsy store in November will receive a free gift!!!

And to top it all off, keep your eyes peeled for a Blog Hop coming up - more prizes happening there to be sure ;) Oh and if you've used pretty petals in a LO and have it on your blog or will add it to your blog and want to join in the Blog Hop fun drop a line to Vicki via the "contact me" button on the right hand side of the blog and you may also be featured in the Blog Hopping Madness that is to come :)

So an exciting month this November - lots happening, lots of fun and giveaways - as I always say - You got to be in it to win it, so come on over and check us out!!!!

I've Done It!!!

Remember a while back i was tossing up if to follow the prompts I'd been receiving and apply for dome DT positions... Well I've done it!

I was super suprised and stoked when I got the Pretty Petals DT (and have just received my first pack of GORGEOUS flowers so expect to see some of them soon) and would love to do some more work that compliments them so thought that I may as well go for it ;)

I'm not expecting much but as I've said with the comps etc that you've got to be in it to win it" so here I am - putting myself out to see what happens again :)

I know there's a LOT of stiff competition out there for this kind of stuff so I'm not holding my breath... especially when I look around and find myself in awe at some other peoples work - I'm still trying to find my own style - but then I guess that can be a positive in a way as I can still be moulded ;) And am willing to try just about anything LOL

Anyhoos... I'd better go get something done - I wanted to put this here in answer to the old post I did so if anyone was wondering then you know that I've gone and doneded it :)

Wish me luck!!!

Being Sketchy....

Challenge put forward for the month of October by Vicki over at SBT50! I knew what I wanted to do with this one the minute I saw it - but I don't think it's come together the way I envisaged but it's somewhat there ;) Hows that for sitting on the fence ROFL

Sooooo here's the challenge!!!

Challenge 1: Vicki's Sketch Challenge

challenge requirements:

use the following sketch:

Well.. I flipped and moved a few elements (and forgot some others I was going to add **doh**) and here is my LO :)
